Hyperledger Iroha 2 has maintained steady progress and regular development since its MVP release. The latest version, 2.0.0-rc.1.5, has been successfully rolled out for real-world deployments in Palau Invest, the Solomon Islands, and Papua New Guinea, primarily as part of the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) solution.

Additionally, the team is in the final stages of releasing the Iroha 2 Blockchain Explorer, further enhancing the network’s user interface and accessibility.

Regular monthly community calls have resumed, providing the community with timely updates and gathering valuable feedback for continual improvement. Real-time support remains consistently active via our dedicated Telegram channel.

Looking ahead, significant enhancements planned for upcoming releases include the introduction of a transaction fees module, a hub chain implementation, and upgrades to network runtime. Efforts continue on optimizing memory consumption and addressing memory leaks.

Overall Activity in the Past Quarter

Activity within the Hyperledger Iroha 2 project remains robust. Our Telegram channel continues to offer active, real-time community support, promptly addressing inquiries and facilitating collaboration among users. Monthly community calls have been reinstated, serving as a productive platform for updates and direct interaction with community members. Additionally, monthly email newsletters are sent to our mailing list, ensuring sustained communication.

The team is actively working on substantial technical enhancements, including:

  • Transaction fees module
  • Hubchain implementation
  • Network optimization features:
    • Memory consumption optimization
    • Peer synchronization improvements during consensus
    • Account alias resolution as part of the primary key addition to accounts

Though the overall workload has slightly decreased, the current activities are efficiently managed by the dedicated Iroha 2 core team.

Current Plans

Future plans focus on delivering critical features such as transaction fee modules, hubchain integration, and enhanced network performance through runtime upgrades and memory optimization. The team remains committed to addressing feedback from community interactions to continually refine and enhance the blockchain infrastructure.
