Project Health

The project was migrated to Hyperledger Foundation from Web3 Labs organization at the beginning of 2024. Contributors are joining the Web3j Contributors call that happens every 2 weeks, calendar. There is also Discord activity.

Releases

LTS release: - v4.14.0 is the current LTS release.

Releases past quarter: - Due to OSSRH Sunset release is paused because library is facing publishing issues on the new Maven Central repository. Maintainers are colLaborating with Maven Central team to solve this issue

Overall Activity in the Past Quarter

Progress on the project went well. Numerous things have been committed and delivered to Web3j in the past quarter. Key areas of work include: - Fix data field returned from custom error: https://github.com/LFDT-web3j/web3j/pull/2192 - Improved Windows support by fixing ClassNotFoundException on Windows during project generation : https://github.com/LFDT-web3j/web3j/pull/2191 - Bug fix on dynamic array processing:https://github.com/LFDT-web3j/web3j/pull/2188

Current Plans

The strategic direction remains consistent with the annual report. The main goals are to: - Continue to provide maintenance, resolve issues, releases at least once a month; - Continue support for the LFDT Web3j Mentorships; - Implement the support for Account Abstraction; - Prague/Electra Upgrade and Future Ethereum Forks; - Web3j 5.x Release; - Web3J Workshop with Account Abstraction support;

Maintainer Diversity

At the moment there are only 3 maintainers (all from Web3 Labs).

Contributor Diversity
